Today’s inspiration is drawn from “And upon the Handmaids in Those Days Will I Pour Out My Spirit” by Julie B. Beck, Relief Society General President during April 2010.
In the whirlwind of life, we often find ourselves grappling with numerous challenges, ranging from family troubles to economic tests, calamities, accidents, and illnesses. In a world filled with distractions, peace and joy sometimes seem elusive. It’s crucial to recognize that no one, no matter how rich, beautiful, or clever, is exempt from the trials of mortality. However, amid these challenges, there’s a beacon of hope – the power of faith, personal revelation, and sisterhood.
Scripture: John 14:26 (KJV) – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
In the quest to navigate the complexities of life, one skill rises above all – the ability to receive personal revelation. This skill, underpinned by a desire for the Spirit and a commitment to worthiness, allows us to prioritize correctly and confidently traverse life’s challenges.
Qualifying for the Spirit: Keeping the commandments, repenting, renewing baptismal covenants, and making and keeping temple covenants are steps that lead to the Lord’s Spirit continually dwelling within us.
The Role of Scripture: The scriptures serve as a conduit for revelation. Regular scripture study accumulates insight over time, so dedicating time to the scriptures each day is vital.
The Power of Prayer: Daily prayer is essential for maintaining the presence of the Lord’s Spirit. In prayer, we earnestly seek help, record impressions, and receive divine guidance.
Living Worthy Lives: Revelation is not a one-time event but a continuous source of strength. By nurturing others and modeling Christlike behavior, we invite the Spirit even amid life’s chaos.
Scripture: Galatians 6:2 (KJV) – “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
The Lord has bestowed upon us the gift of Relief Society, a divine organization specifically designed to empower His daughters. When Relief Society functions as intended, it elevates women above the trials of the world, preparing them for eternal blessings.
The Triple Mandate: Relief Society’s core responsibility is to help sisters increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and serve those in need.
A Unified Spiritual Power: In Relief Society, sisters receive answers to their questions and benefit from the collective spiritual strength of the sisterhood. It affirms the eternal nature of daughters of God.
Entrance into Relief Society: Becoming part of Relief Society signifies trustworthiness and an ability to contribute significantly to the Church. It acknowledges that women progress individually while focusing on their responsibilities.
Scripture: Matthew 5:16 (KJV) – “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
In a world often marred by distorted measures of success, it’s essential to seek affirmation from the right sources. True success is marked by developing Christlike attributes, striving for obedience, and living worthy of the Spirit’s guidance.
Attributes of Success: Success is found in becoming more like Christ, doing our best, increasing faith, strengthening families, helping others in need, and following the Spirit.
A Profound Promise: The Lord has promised to pour out His Spirit upon His handmaids in the last days. As women align themselves with His teachings, they become a significant force in the growth of His kingdom.
In conclusion, the path to success, as defined by the Lord, involves nurturing personal revelation, cherishing sisterhood in Relief Society, and understanding the true measures of success. As we follow this divine roadmap, we become beacons of light, contributing to a better world.
It’s time to embrace the power of faith, sisterhood, and personal revelation. Seek the Spirit, nurture sisterly bonds, and measure success through a divine lens. By doing so, we can light up the world with goodness, love, and a commitment to making it a better place for all. Link to the original: Click Here

Hi there!
Thank you for visiting our Christian Resource website. We’re building a special place here that brings Christians together from all walks of life, and your help would be great!
What we need from you are suggestions. Ideas for things we can include on our site that would help you, and other Christians, to learn, grow, and feel united in faith. Maybe there’s a specific topic you’d like to see covered, a prayer that touched your heart, or a Christian song that’s been on your mind.
This is a place for all of us, so let’s keep it friendly. We’re cool with different opinions – that’s how we learn from each other! But let’s remember to share our thoughts respectfully, with the kind of love that Jesus showed us. No room for ugliness or bashing here.
We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing what great ideas you have to make our site even better. Together, we can create a place that truly serves and unifies the Christian community.
