Today’s inspiration is drawn from “Hosanna and Hallelujah—The Living Jesus Christ: The Heart of Restoration and Easter” by Elder Gerrit W. Gong during April 2020.
Every journey begins with a single step, and every master was once a beginner. Just like the young girl, Ivy, who began her violin journey not knowing how to play a note, each one of us starts our spiritual journey with small, uncertain steps. As Ivy grew in skill with practice and patience, we too can grow spiritually. In life, we are continually learning, striving, and progressing, gradually becoming more in tune with the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Easter isn’t just a day; it’s a season, a feeling, and a story of hope. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of this holy week, symbolizing the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. The waving palms signify joy and celebration, expressing happiness in the Lord’s presence. And as we transition from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, we’re reminded of Jesus’s ultimate sacrifice and resurrection, a testament to His boundless love and mercy.
Restoration and Resurrection: A Celebration of Life
Easter embodies two profound elements: restoration and resurrection. It’s not just about physical healing or returning what was lost; it’s also about spiritual renewal, second chances, and understanding our divine potential. Jesus Christ’s atonement reminds us that we’re not bound by our past; His love offers redemption, regardless of our previous choices.
The events of Easter, intertwined with the story of Latter-day restoration, emphasize that Jesus Christ is ever-present, not just in history but in our daily lives. His teachings guide our actions, decisions, and help us draw closer to Him.
Each of us, like Ivy, is on a personal journey. While our paths may differ, the destination remains the same: to grow closer to Jesus Christ and understand His teachings. Every challenge we face, every hurdle we overcome, brings us a step closer to Him, enhancing our understanding and strengthening our faith.
But this journey isn’t just for us. We’re encouraged to lift others, share our experiences, and collectively grow in faith. When we come together as a community, our combined faith creates a harmony more beautiful than any solo.
In the spirit of Easter and restoration, let’s be inspired to make a change. Each act of kindness, every gesture of love, and all moments of patience contribute to making the world a brighter place. Just as Jesus Christ spreads love unconditionally, let us too strive to share compassion, understanding, and hope with those around us.
It starts with us. This Easter season, let’s commit to being a beacon of light, echoing the teachings of Jesus Christ in our actions and words. Let’s inspire change, promote love, and celebrate life, for He shall reign forever and ever!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
Every individual’s path is marked by personal experiences, trials, triumphs, and lessons. Just like Ivy, each of us embarks on a unique spiritual expedition. While our roads might have distinct challenges and sceneries, they all aim towards a shared horizon: forging a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and embodying His teachings in our lives. As we navigate this journey, we not only discover more about our Savior but also unveil the depths of our own faith and potential. By embracing every twist and turn, we gradually align our footsteps with His, leading us towards enlightenment and growth.
While our personal spiritual journey holds immense significance, there’s an unparalleled strength when we come together in faith. Our individual stories, when shared, become a testament to the collective spirit of resilience, hope, and love. As we pool our beliefs, experiences, and learnings, it creates a melody of faith that’s richer and more harmonious than any individual note. This shared journey not only amplifies our personal faith but fosters a community where everyone uplifts, supports, and learns from one another, echoing the communal teachings of Jesus Christ.
As disciples of Christ in today’s world, we’re entrusted with a profound responsibility. Inspired by the spirit of Easter and the teachings of restoration, it’s upon us to be the harbingers of change. Every small act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every gesture of love has the power to touch lives and spark change. Just as Jesus Christ’s love knows no bounds, we too should endeavor to share empathy, understanding, and hope, making the world a haven of compassion and unity.
Our faith isn’t just a belief; it’s a way of life. Drawing inspiration from the words of Matthew, it’s essential for each of us to let our inner light shine. By embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can become living examples of His love and grace. Our actions, big or small, can illuminate the world around us, guiding others towards the path of righteousness. This Easter season, let’s not just celebrate the resurrection of Christ but also pledge to resurrect love, kindness, and hope in our world, creating ripples of positive change. This is a place for all of us, so let’s keep it friendly. We’re cool with different opinions – that’s how we learn from each other! But let’s remember to share our thoughts respectfully, with the kind of love that Jesus showed us. No room for ugliness or bashing here.
