Today’s inspiration is drawn from “Always Have His Spirit” by Elder Dallin H. Oaks Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles during the April 1996 General Conference.
In the hustle and bustle of our lives, amidst the noise and distractions of the world, there exists a sacred moment each week that beckons us to pause, to reflect, and to renew. It is the moment of partaking of the sacrament, a symbolic act of profound significance in the life of a believer.
The commandment to partake of the sacrament is not a mere formality but a divine injunction aimed at keeping us “unspotted from the world” (D&C 59:9). As we gather in the house of prayer on the Lord’s holy day, we engage in a solemn ritual that serves to reaffirm and renew the covenants we made at baptism. It is a time for introspection, for repentance, and for rededication to the cause of Christ.
Central to the ordinance of the sacrament is the promise of the Holy Ghost. Just as we were endowed with this precious gift after our baptism, so too do we have the opportunity to qualify for its constant companionship as we partake of the sacrament each week.
The Holy Ghost is not merely a fleeting presence but a constant guide and comforter in our lives. Through its influence, we are enlightened, instructed, and empowered to discern truth from error, to receive personal revelation, and to navigate the challenges of mortality with faith and fortitude.
To fully appreciate the significance of the Holy Ghost, it is essential to understand its nature and purpose. It is more than just a feeling or emotion; it is the means by which God communicates with His children, imparting knowledge, wisdom, and divine guidance.
While the Light of Christ illuminates the path of every individual, manifestations of the Holy Ghost are reserved for those who sincerely seek after truth and righteousness. And beyond these manifestations lies the gift of the Holy Ghost, which encompasses the right to its constant companionship and guidance.
The act of partaking of the sacrament is not merely a ritualistic observance but a spiritual renewal of our baptismal covenants. Just as we were cleansed from sin through baptism, so too can we experience a renewal of that remission through the sacred ordinance of the sacrament.
By approaching the sacrament with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, we open ourselves to the sanctifying influence of the Holy Ghost. It is a time for repentance, for forgiveness, and for a recommitment to living the principles of the gospel.
As disciples of Christ, we are called to heed the Savior’s invitation to partake of the sacrament with sincerity and reverence. Let us not underestimate the power of this sacred ordinance to renew and strengthen our souls.
I invite you to make a commitment to attend sacrament meeting each Sabbath day and to partake of the sacrament with a heart prepared to receive the blessings of heaven. Let us strive to keep our personal temples clean and worthy of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, the gift of the Holy Ghost offers a beacon of hope and guidance. By embracing the sacrament and seeking the companionship of the Spirit, we can find peace amidst the storms of life and become beacons of light to those around us.
Let us endeavor to live worthy of this precious gift and to share its blessings with others. Together, we can make the world a better place, one heart, and one soul at a time. Link to Original: Always Have His Spirit

What we need from you are suggestions. Ideas for things we can include on our site that would help you, and other Christians, to learn, grow, and feel united in faith. Maybe there’s a specific topic you’d like to see covered, a prayer that touched your heart, or a Christian song that’s been on your mind.
This is a place for all of us, so let’s keep it friendly. We’re cool with different opinions – that’s how we learn from each other! But let’s remember to share our thoughts respectfully, with the kind of love that Jesus showed us. No room for ugliness or bashing here.
We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing what great ideas you have to make our site even better. Together, we can create a place that truly serves and unifies the Christian community.
